The cross-reference to this label is now in the clipboard and can be copied to the actual cursor position via the menu Edit⇒Paste (shortcut Ctrl V). An alternative way to reference a label is to right-click the label and select Copy as Reference in the appearing context menu. Then select “sec:About-This-Document” (it may be selected by default), and a reference marker will appear containing “Ref Text: sec:About-This-Document” (To be really correct, you should put a Protected Space in between the word “Section” and the reference). First, select the drop-down menu labeled “Format” and select “ on page ”. At the moment, there should be only one, “sec:About-This-Document”. It shows a list of the possible labels you can reference. So when you put the LyX macro in the comment environment, the code LyX generates gets ignored and only the second, desirable, outcome is achieved. Now â with the cursor after the word “Section” â choose Insert⇒Cross Reference or the toolbar button. If LyX inserts LaTeX code to define the existing macro, it will cause errors. While the latter is desirable, the former is problematic.
